Valve Solutions for the Energy Sector

Engineering Solutions for Continuous Power Generation Under High Pressure and Temperature

Critical Safety in Energy Production

Power plants are facilities where the cost of unplanned downtime is extremely high and occupational safety risks operate at maximum levels. In particular, supercritical steam lines and high-temperature applications push standard valve designs beyond their operating limits. At EMS Valve, we deliver engineered solutions for these critical points—the very “heart” of power plants—backed by 45 years of engineering expertise and 100% domestic manufacturing capability.

Challenges of the Energy Sector and EMS Valve Solutions

In power generation facilities, valves are exposed to several core stress factors. EMS Valve addresses these challenges with the following engineering approaches:

  • High Temperature and Creep Effect: At temperatures exceeding +500°C, metals may deform over time due to creep. To mitigate this risk, we utilize high creep-resistant Chromium-Molybdenum alloy forged steels such as F11, F22, and F91.
  • Thermal Shock and Cycles: Sudden temperature fluctuations in power plants can cause cracking in cast bodies. Our forged valve technology aligns the grain structure of the metal, providing superior resistance to thermal shock and water hammer effects.
  • Sealing Under High Pressure: In high-pressure steam lines, conventional bonnet gaskets may be insufficient. Therefore, we implement pressure seal bonnet designs, where sealing force increases proportionally with pressure, ensuring reliable tightness.

Critical Application Areas

The EMS Valve product portfolio is safely deployed in the most demanding processes of power plants:

  • Boiler Feedwater Lines: These lines combine high pressure and high temperature, making tight sealing and mechanical strength essential.
  • Main Steam Lines: As the primary arteries of the plant, these lines commonly utilize F91 alloy Gate and Globe valves.
  • Turbine Bypass Lines: These systems require fast and highly reliable operation to protect turbine integrity.
  • Blow-down Lines: During boiler blow-down operations, Globe valves with specially designed trims are used to withstand high differential pressure and cavitation risks.

Product-Oriented Technical Overview

Valve TypeFunction in Power Plants
Forged Gate ValveProvides isolation (on/off) in high-pressure steam lines. OS&Y design allows clear position indication.
Pressure Seal Globe ValveUsed for precise regulation of steam flow. Pressure seal bonnet minimizes external leakage risk.
Forged Check Valve (Piston/Lift)Prevents backflow in vertical lines or high-pressure flows, protecting turbines and pumps.

Why EMS Valve?

Energy security cannot be left to chance. EMS Valve products are manufactured in full compliance with ASME B16.34 pressure–temperature ratings and EN 12516 design standards. Through hydrostatic testing and ultrasonic (UT) / magnetic particle (MT) inspections during production, we ensure that every valve is 100% ready to perform reliably under real power plant operating conditions.
